Melbourne streetwear label and social enterprise, HoMie, is releasing a new limited edition hoodie collection marking Youth Homelessness Matters Day on April 17th and the launch of the brand’s 2024 Hoodies for Homelessness campaign.
Dropping just in time for the autumn chill to set in, the genderless new hoodie collection will feature three fresh colourways: black, white merle and forest green in inclusive sizing. Each year, HoMie’s Hoodies for Homelessness campaign encourages everyday Australians to buy and wear a hoodie to raise awareness for the ongoing youth homelessness crisis.
This year, the campaign theme is ‘Give one, get one’. For each hoodie sold from the new collection, HoMie’s Principal Partner, Champion, will donate one to a young person affected by homelessness. 100% of the profits from each purchase will go towards HoMie’s mission to support young people affected by homelessness or hardship through education and employment opportunities.
Long-time friend of HoMie and Australian comedian, Tommy Little, is throwing his support behind the campaign. “I’ve been supporting HoMie for so many years now and it’s been amazing to see how far they’ve come and how much difference they’re making in the community. This is the third year in a row we’ve run Hoodies for Homelessness together and we’re hoping to make it our biggest one yet, giving Australians a moment to come together and make a big difference in the lives of our young people facing some really tough times. Give a moment of your time, buy a hoodie and get around it!”
HoMie’s CEO, Steph Say, said the support of streetwear icon, Champion, has enabled the non-profit to double the impact of its 2024 Hoodies for Homelessness campaign. “Champion has been our Principal Partner since 2018, and this latest show of support is a testament to their generosity and commitment to making meaningful change in our community.”
The collection is now available to pre-order online with a limited pre-release available to shop in HoMie’s well-known Fitzroy store on Youth Homelessness Matters Day (April 17th). From 12pm, the retail space will transform into a real-life content studio, offering all customers who purchase a hoodie from the new range the chance to get a free portrait taken in their new threads – further spreading awareness for the campaign’s mission.
Pre-orders are now open at homie.com.au/pages/hoodies-for-homelessness with 100% of profits from each hoodie goes towards supporting HoMie’s mission. The hoodies come in sizes XS-3XL and retail for $109.
You can visit HoMie’s Fitzroy store at 296 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy on Wednesday 17 April 2024 between 12-4pm to purchase your hoodie!
