Mercedes-Benz continues to have a starring role at the Formula 1 2018 Rolex Australian Grand Prix as the Official Course Car supplier, in addition to hosting customers and special guests at the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge as well as the AMG Hub for all racegoers in the Champions Gateway precinct.

Mercedes-Benz hosted a four-day program at the trackside Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge, exclusively for the use of Mercedes-AMG customers during the racing weekend. The program kicked off on Thursday, March 22 with the Mercedes-Benz Ladies Day Luncheon, which has earned the reputation as the place to be seen for the ladies. Bringing style and sophistication to the track, the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge  was this year
been transformed into an explorer’s greenhouse, filled with exotic flora and fauna, yet simultaneously an enclave of knowledge and a place for new ideas.

Female celebrities, media and VIPs will celebrate the fusion of fast cars and fashion alongside P.E Nation’s Pip Edwards and Claire Tregoning, Australian journalist and author Antonia Kidman, who acted as the event’s Master of Ceremonies. Australian singer-songwriter Vera Blue also attended the event and performed her latest hits.

Guests enjoyed a custom menu described as ‘unrestricted Middle Eastern’, designed by Melbourne chef Shane Delia of Maha and Biggie Smalls. The menu showcased a selection of Middle Eastern classics with a modern spin. Shane’s motivation was to introduce a creative foodie element for women to enjoy, breaking down the barriers to what is traditionally considered a male-focused event.

With women now accounting for a significant portion of Mercedes-Benz purchases, Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific CEO and Managing Director Horst von Sanden continues to ensure the brand “speaks directly to women about empowerment – empowered women are intellectual, progressive and rational”.

“We will continue offering a large variety of brand experience events for women, such as Ladies Day at Albert Park this week and at the National Gallery of Victoria as part of our approach,” says von Sanden.
